Like school districts across the nation, we are facing unprecedented disruption in the food supply chain that will likely cause menu changes with little notice. Please know that nurturing ALL children through quality food and active living will continue to be our central mission. When menu changes become necessary, CWS will try to use replacement items that are as close to the posted menu as possible. We will make every effort to communicate with school communities and school nurses about these changes. When milk shortage occurs, CWS will offer a replacement beverage whenever possible. Please also consider sending your child to school with a full water bottle every day.
Like school buildings and departments district-wide, CWS is also experiencing record staff shortages. We anticipate these shortages will inevitably impact services in ways we have never experienced before. In the event we must make the difficult decision to close a school kitchen due to lack of staff, a cold breakfast and lunch will be provided to every student. We encourage you to talk to your child about the potential for these variations. We are sorry—this is far from the vision of meals that we have your student. Please know that we are working hard to limit these disruptions. We appreciate your understanding and assistance.
